Use of water
DemusAqua is a new decaffeination method that uses water and active carbon
for the extraction of caffeine. It is a procedure that exploit only water as
the extraction solvent; the water and the coffee are put into contact at a
certain temperature that allows the start of the extraction process. The
activated carbons are used for the extraction of caffeine from water in such a
way that the private aqueous solution of caffeine can then be concentrated and
reincorporated in the coffee.
